Kamiak Butte, Washington

First stop in our week-long trip to Genesee was a hike up Kamiak Butte in Washington…just over the Idaho border. The kids did great and the view was amazing. You could see the University of Idaho in Moscow and Washington State University in Pullman, WA.

Colton & Ammon are up in front, with Bryson and Atlas trekking right behind. Hannah with Gizzy…
VID00211
Angie with Lincoln and Myah. Lincoln is about 6 months older than Anna and hiked the entire thing on his own—with a little urging from mom.
VID00212
I had Anna on my back…mainly because she LOVES the backpack. Who wouldn’t want to be carried up a mountain? She is usually a pretty good little hiker, though…no interest this time.
VID00213
This is something we don’t see a lot of in Southern Idaho. Moss? Colton asked, “What is moss?” We all had a different answer. I guess our memory of science class isn’t very good. I think Hannah was the one who was right.
VID00214
All that foliage allowed for shade and fun little hiding places in the trees.

At the top for the cousin picture…
VID00216
Bryson falling over for the cousin picture…(L to R) Hannah, Colton, Myah, Anna, Ammon, Bryson, Lincoln
VID00218
“This is kind of a hard tree to climb, Mom.”
VID00219
Trying to be like her brothers, already. They pick up a stick, she’ll pick up a stick.
VID00220
Notice the leash in Anna’s hands…
VID00222
“Atlassss!!!” is what Anna is yelling as she is trying to drag him around
VID00221
Atlas pleading to me to please take the leash away from Anna. Notice the tongue sticking out? Ever watch World’s Ugliest Dog Contest? Remind you of anything? Yes, he’s losing his teeth and therefore can not keep his tongue in his mouth.

Anna finally decided to go down the slide…VID00226 and her face met the ground…Whoops! Mom had the camera in her hand and couldn’t catch her.VID00225 “Mom…how could you let me fall!”VID00224A little dirt up the nose never hurt anyone, right?
