Just a Post

No pictures.
Nothing really to take pictures of when you are stuck inside
because of freezing weather and not enough snow to play in.

I just had to write down a couple of cute kids things.

Anna loves the word
"No."
She says it all the time to everything,
even if she means yes.
The other day, Bryson says to me,
"I think Anna has lost her Yes."
Yes, she has. I hope she finds it soon.
Another Bryson cutie...
I was unpicking a sewing project last night.
(Yes, when I sew, I end up doing a lot of unpicking)
I set the "seam ripper" down on the table.
Bryson says,
"Mom, you better put that away
because I might want to play with it."
I can see it now...
our couch cushions completely taken apart.
Our primary program was Sunday.
Bryson & Colton both had their
sweet speaking parts memorized.
Colton also had a little singing solo
(thanks to mommy being in charge of all the music)
He sang by himself the question parts of
'Did Jesus Really Live Again?'
The whole primary would then sing the answers.
Bryson sang
'I Am a Child of God'
with the other sunbeams.
The whole program turned out really great.
They always surprise me on the day of.
9 months of learning and practice
finally comes to an end...
just so we can start it all over again.
:)

Happy Birthday Carly!

Carly is the last sister-in-law to join our family.
In contrast to Shae,
she hasn't been around the family very long...
just 11 months so far;
But, she has been in my brother's heart
for a lot longer than that
I'm so glad they are finally able to be together.

Carly is an amazing mom
to her beautiful little boy, Carstin,

And to Dave's 3 kids, AND
all the little neices and nephews she inherited

We are so happy to have her as part of our family.
She is sweet, down to earth, talented,
beautiful...
And she makes my brother SO HAPPY!
Love ya!
Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Shae!

I have 4 McEntire sisters-in-law...
and this was the year to celebrate them on their birthdays on the blog.
The funny thing is that all of our birthdays,
including mine,
are in November & December,
except 1--and hers is in January.
That is kind of strange to me...all 5 of us within 3 months.
Anyway, It is Shae's Birthday and her turn to be honored
on the Petzinger family blog!Shae has been around our family for awhile.
Ever since before Colton was born,
so almost 7 years.

But, she didn't become my official sis-in-law until 2007.

Unfortunately, our relationship had its ups and downs at first,

but I can now say...

I am fully accepting.
She gives me LOTS to laugh about...

She's fun to be around...

She loves my boys...

She loves my brother unconditionally...

She is amazing at everything she does...

She can accomplish whatever she sets her mind to...

I consider her a great friend...
and am happy to call her sister.

Happy Birthday!

OCTOBER 5th - FIRST SNOW

Yes, I'm playing catch up on posting...
These pictures are from our first snow of the year
October 5th
Snow has never been here this early,
since we've lived here

Still green grass under the trampoline

The first snow is always fun...
no matter what time of year it comes.
The early snow definitly did a number on our
still fully leafed branches.
Oh well, less to prune next year.

Cookie Decorating and Good Friends

Last Wednesday, Amanda had us over
so the kids could decorate Halloween cookies
Top Left: A fire pit; Top Right: Snakes & Sticks
Bottom: Your guess is as good as mine...
The brothers

Anna, asking for more candy,
I am sure

It was a great activity,
but as I post this,
I am sad...
Amanda moves away this weekend...
all the way to CALIFORNIA!
(The boys: Bridger, Colt, Brady, Bryce)
I am losing a very dear friend and I will miss her!
ok...so I'm not technically "losing" a friend...
but you know what I mean.
Email, phones, and facebook can't replace
having a friend to hang out with.
Thanks for everything, Amanda.
I wish you the very best.

Star Wars & Politics: HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

The whole family was supposed to be Star Wars...but I am not, obviously.
I will get to me in a minute...
The kids sure made out well, though...
Captain Rex, the Clone Trooper
Princess Leia
Anikan Skywalker
Anna DID NOT like the hair piece.
I made it out of yarn
and attached it to a hat, at first...
But, she wouldn't leave that on for more than 1 second.
So, I just stuck the yarn on her head instead
And she wouldn't even realize it was there...
for a few minutes, anyway.

I have discovered this Halloween that Anna
has the biggest sweet tooth of
any of the 3 kids.

Now, to the explanation of my costume.
As you can see, my dear husband was none other than
Barack Obama---

Who went around taking everyone's candy to give to others.
I had to counteract that the best I could.

So, now you can go back up and look at the picture of me...
If you can guess who I am, you do not live under a rock.

If you think I'm dressed up as a "business woman",
as some people did,
then I suggest you start paying a little more attention
to the world around you.

Do not take offense to that comment.
It was meant in a sincerely kind & helpful way.
:)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

1st Haircut

The hair in the eyes and the mullett needed to go...
So, Nana was just the person to give Anna a haircut.
She is such a girl and the jewelry kept her occupied while Nana cut.
Not a great picture, I couldn't get her to hold still...
but I had to post it anyway.
I absolutely love this little dress.
